University of Virginia: The Architecture of Education and Democracy — Video Dispatch

Founded in 1819, Thomas Jefferson conceived and designed the University of Virginia as a unique “Academic Village” where students and professors would live and learn together.  One of his last contributions to American public life, the university represents an enduring legacy of Jefferson’s vision of the importance of education to democracy.
