Clay’s epic Lewis and Clark tour of America begins on May 6, 2025, at Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Clay will lecture that day on Thomas Jefferson’s vision for Lewis and Clark’s “Corps of Discovery” at 2:00 p.m. Clay’s talk will kick off his 11,000-mile, transcontinental journey in the 23-foot Listening to America Airstream.
Clay will trace the Lewis and Clark expedition from Virginia, where it was conceived in the imagination of Thomas Jefferson, all the way down the Ohio River, up the Mississippi and Missouri, over the Bitterroot Mountains, down the Clearwater, Snake, and Columbia Rivers — and back again.
Admission to Poplar Forest costs $26. After Clay’s short lecture, there will be a potluck picnic nearby.
This is your chance to share the launch with Clay, break bread with your fellow listeners, and peek into the Listening to America Airstream.
We hope you will join us for this historic event in the heart of Jefferson’s Virginia on May 6.
